I don’t know whether or not I’m excited for it. For one, I’ll be doing lab work, which I like, but due to my contracted fingers, I have problems putting on gloves. It’s not impossible la, but it takes me a while to get them on. I don’t know how much lab work is required of me because my superior told me that he understood that I have a problem with mobility and thus does not expect much from me in terms of lab work. He even said that I could be more of a thinker in the group. Which is good, I guess. But I can’t help worrying, you know?

And then there’s the stress of working. I hear a lot of working people say that working is very stressful and that studying is better, yadda yadda yadda. I mean, I’ve worked before, but my jobs had nothing to do with the field I studied, so I didn’t understand what I was doing. What people tell me to do, I just do. Because I didn’t understand what I was doing, there was no stress on me. Get what I mean?

I also found out that one of my friends from Monash is also working there and in the same lab as I am, so at least there’s a familiar face when I go there next week. Hopefully, she won’t get sick of me… hehehe But I know her to be a very nice person, so yeah. The most senior biology lab person there also seems quite friendly, and apparently, he also knows about my problem, so hopefully he will not be so hard on me.

Those who are skilled in combat do not become angered, those who are skilled at winning do not become afraid. Thus the wise win before they fight, while the ignorant fight to win.

Then I made a very lame joke.

Me: You know, if Adam hadn’t eaten the fruit at the garden of Eden, we wouldn’t need clothes today. Then we wouldn’t have to spend money buying clothes.
Sister: So next time when mummy scolds me for buying too many clothes, I can say, “Blame Adam – he ate the apple!”

If I hadn’t gotten the job at BST Sdn. Bhd., I would seriously consider teaching in a tuition centre. Even though it’s quite far from where I stay… But I think teaching is one of the least stressful professions. Unless you are the type who think your students’ success in examinations is based on how good you are as a teacher… But to me, a teacher can only do so much in a classroom – the rest of the work is up to the student. Hence, why I think that teaching has less stress.

So I told her I’d already gotten a full-time job and couldn’t accept the position.

But she was so ganas – she asked me if I could work part-time. By then, I was wondering if she’d gotten that I’d said “full-time job”. Then I asked her to clarify “part-time”, and she said I could work during the weekend. Er, thanks, but no thanks. I’d like to enjoy my weekends. But I was secretly slightly pleased that they were so desperate to have me teach in their tuition centre. So I told her I’d have to work Saturdays as well (technically, it’s true – I have to work on 5th Saturdays of months that have 5 Saturdays).

It actually feels kinda good to tell people that I’ve already gotten a job

So, LMFAO’s ‘Sexy And I Know It’ was playing on the radio. It’s quite a catchy song la – especially the “Wiggle wiggle wiggle” part.

We were caught in a bit of a jam, and as soon as the cars started moving, the “Wiggle wiggle wiggle” part came on. And my sister shouted “Wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle yeah!” along with the song. Then my mom shouted back at her, “I can’t “we go” now la! Look how slowly the cars are moving!” For a moment, there was silence in the car. Then, my sister and I burst out laughing. “It’s not “we go”, it’s wiggle. W-I-G-G-L-E,” I told my mom.

My family can be so funny.
